2009 just gets better and better! Summer’s well and truly here, the crowds are jumping and the music is really doing it on the dance floors. In July I’ve been lucky enough to sample some new delights from a brand new Indian label, Wind Horse Music - the Sufi Soul EP, which delivers some really interesting East / West fusion. I also just found FLEX Schallplatten, an Austrian label I’d never heard of before, but I’ve fallen deeply for the sound! I’ve been hammering The Views EP (2 tracks here in the chart) - make sure you check it out… Serious stuff! And last, but so definitely not least, LA’s HAWT Music dropped it’s first release this month; Easily Influenced - Rockit. As I mentioned in my review - the track (especially the Derrick Carter mix i’ve charted #1) takes me right back to the good, old days down at The End nightclub in London. Those days are behind us, the club has closed its doors for the last time, and I’m, well… a little rounder, but it’s clear the music lives on! Rockit is my track of the month, and will undoubtedly be in my chart of 2009. It’s a monster!
I hope you’re all having a great summer. Let me know what’s rocking your world, and maybe I’ll play it on Trans-Atlantic Airwaves next week!
Enjoy!
