2 weeks to Christmas… can that honestly be right? Oh yes, yes, yes it can! This year really has just flown by. Well, what better way to review 2009 than to look over all the tracks that have made this year’s Trans-Atlantic Airwaves the best yet!
Over the last few weeks I’ve been doing a little audio detective work, scouring the old set and track lists, listening back to some old shows and riffling through the shelves to find the tunes that made it a year to remember. This week I started off the reminiscing with a bit of a bounce around the year in sound, including the monsterous Eastern Lights by Magik Johnson and Timo Garcia’s hauningly brilliant Hang Drum Track (on Berwick Street), featuring the amazing skills of Manu Delargo. Kaato Recordings have been a huge contributor to the show in 2009, so this week I had to throw on Kreuzberg 36 by Deepchild, their 14th release from October. Last, but most definitely not least we had a couple of tracks from our great friend Mr.Q Burns, who, courtesy of the superb Eighth Dimension, has kept the show sounding as brilliantly fresh as it does every week!
Enjoy another listen over this weeks show here (or on in the radio player on the homepage), and don’t forget to head over to My House Your House at midday PST on Friday on for the live show!
