Headlights - Love Song for Buddy Video

They’re not exactly house music, but I flipping love The Headlights. I first caught the indie / pop / rock 4-piece, who hail from Champaign, Illinois at SXSW in 2008, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Their live performances are something of real beauty… resonating a sound and energy that will make you dance, sing, smile and occasionally even cry a little. While their studio albums, remixes and videos definitely induce deep thought, as you appreciate the artistic brilliance that makes the band what it is.

The latest Headlights album; Wildlife was released in October 2009 on Polyvinyl Records, and is definitely worth picking up. Below is the video for Love Song for Buddy, one of the stand out tracks from the album. The video, directed and illustrated by Scott Marvel, edited by Matthew Hane, and produced by Daily Planet is definitely a little on the melancholy / thought provoking side, but beautiful none the less.
