Metrogum Wraps Up Summer

Metrogum Wraps Up Summer

Our great friends and gurus of all things indie music; Metrogum have just released their end of summer show, and look who donned the shades, hopped on the lilo and took the presenter mic… none other than our man CheckPoint!

“I love working with these guys. Josh Finn (the main man behind Metrogum) truly is the grown up version of your friend at school who came in once a week with that amazing new mix-tape (oh yes, and it was tape in our days!) with the best, unknown indie music from all corners of the world that you’d never heard before, but grew to love by lunchtime! I love the site and find it a great resource for keeping up to date with all forms of music outside of my usual dance music orbit. Plus Josh does an amazing job of featuring under-exposed, local talent, especially in LA, a town where an incredible indie scene unfortunately all-too-often gets hidden behind the commercial nonsense.” explains CheckPoint.

Here is the full end of summer episode of Metrogum featuring an interview with the Huntington Beach’s Hindu Pirates, some Band Stand Busking from the UK, an inside look around the tour bus of an indie rock star and some live concert footage from fans around the world…

Now head on over to Metrogum and check out the what they have to offer. There’s a huge array of artist interviews, blog postings, a forum packed with posts from wildly knowledgable (but not annoyingly so!) musos, plus plenty of great user submitted videos from around the world. It really is what you wish all music sites could be, if they could look past the top 40 fodder. A fresh approach and something all of us at My Cuppa T love… just like Josh’s mix tapes back in the 80s! (Ouch - sorry bro!)

We’re sure you will be pleasently surprised, and as CheckPoint says in the video, you may just find your next favourite band!
