Official release date: September 27th, 2010

Out Of The Ocean kicks things off with a strong chugging percussive start, opening out into stabbing strings and filtered vocals. The breaks see more disco samples and strings filtering and slinking around, before that thumping percussion comes back in, with all kinds of bongo snaps, slaps and clops ringing through. A really energetic track, and very fresh sounding. Next up, Stomp is a great slice of computerised-funk, with bubbling keys and sharp ‘fidgety’ horn stabs and squeaks. A funky brass part helps the break roll along, and a 90s vocal sample picks up the beat and hits home alongside a thumping kick drum. In places this really chugs along with the feel of a funky techno track, but it retains a wide variety of breaks and some simple yet effective flourishes. Hit Me Again is techy, moody, and at times, jarring, but in a good way. This track sounds fresh and innovative, whilst at the same time keeping the staple bumping groove of Sahagun. Heavy bass drops sit alongside haunting vocal samples, with metallic clangs and echoing stabs piercing through. The release finishes with a slower, broken beat groove in The Cross. Slow, funky percussion keeps this rolling along, with some recognisable funky samples sprinkled throughout a reggae-soul-inspired groove.
