1. Ask You
2. Call Me
3. Call Me (Pezzner Tense Version)
Giom has really become a name to look for in the last year or so & this release showcases exactly why this is the case. His two original tracks here are both sublime dancefloor gems, with a hint of deep house but also a ‘classic’ feel too, so equally appealing to the deep, tech and funky DJ alike. Opener Ask You flows wonderfully, with a nagging rhythm & effortlessly cool bassline, with added hits & stabs as the track progresses; it’s one of those cuts that grabs your attention & you’re hooked.
Ask You:
The EP’s title track is a lighter affair, with a vocal fill throughout & more of a swing to the drums, a really strong warm-up or mid-set cut to get things moving along, full of warmth & fine grooves.
Call Me:
Of the two Pezzner workouts on Call Me, I’ve opted for the Tense Version, which has a great key stab throughout, with some freaked high-pitch almost siren-esque refrains, creating a fantastic deep yet tough vibe, offering a real contrasting sound to Giom’s original. Excellent stuff from both parties on this release.
